Psychotherapy

I have extensive experience working with many communities, and helping individuals and couples to better understand themselves, and their relationships with work, partners, family, and friends.

My approach is eclectic within the various models of psychodynamic psychotherapy that are client-centered, humanistic, and relational. My training as a social worker began in the area of substance abuse.

I am certified to teach a non-martial arts form of T’ai Chi:  T’ai Chi Chih®, and I am a meditator in the Soto Zen tradition. Both continue to influence my work as a psychotherapist.

I’ve taught in the graduate schools of Mental Health Counseling and Clinical Social Work at Hunter College/CUNY. I hold a Certificate from The Center for the Study of Anorexia and Bulimia. I am a past president of the NY State Society of Ericksonian Hypnosis and Psychotherapy. In 2011 I was named the Greta Singer Memorial Lecturer at Monmouth University.
